Since we want to keep all of you updated about our developments and processes at the company, here’s another blog for you to read about some car accessories! This time, we’re focusing on the Tesla Model Y for both LHD and RHD versions.

Admittedly, there wasn’t a very exciting story behind the development of these products. A friend was kind enough to let us scan his car as soon as it was delivered, allowing us to immediately begin the process of creating accessories for the Tesla Model Y.

However, the RHD version does have an interesting story behind it…

We quickly developed the LHD Tesla Model Y accessories and were ready for all of you, but there were already many inquiries about our RHD Tesla Model Y accessories for the UK! So I started thinking… how can we get an RHD Tesla Model Y to scan… in Holland?

I realized there was only one solution: let’s fly to London and see what we can find!

Der erste Versuch

Of course, we could have simply searched online for a car, but would that really be as efficient and personal as finding one in person? Perhaps, but it wouldn’t be nearly as fun. So, we took the impulsive route and booked a flight from Amsterdam to London for the weekend.

Upon arrival, we spotted numerous EVs within the first hour, but we still hadn’t seen a newly made Tesla Model Y. As we wandered around London, doing some sightseeing, we kept our eyes peeled for the Model Y… but found none!

Hours passed, and after indulging in a lot of street snacks, we decided to ask around. Unfortunately, we received quite a disappointing answer: the Model Y wouldn’t be released for at least another month. This might have been our biggest blunder yet—how did we not check this before jumping on a flight to London?

Accepting our mistake and defeat, we treated ourselves to some muffins and caught a flight back home that day.

The RHD Tesla Model Y was finally about to be released in the UK, and after our initial setback, I decided to approach it in a more straightforward way. It was time to connect with some communities of UK Tesla enthusiasts and ask around about the car.

After a few evenings of chatting and sharing laughs with the EV community, we found a really nice guy named Paul. He was one of the first people to collect a Tesla Model Y on its debut day in the UK and was kind enough to let us borrow his newly acquired car the day after he picked it up!

(They even held a gala for the buyers of these cars… I wish we had something similar when we got our Model 3.)

After some careful planning, the day finally arrived for us to scan the car. We sent our specialist, who handles the scanning, on a plane, and the scan went perfectly! Paul even brought us some English muffins, and for once, the weather was nice—at least until the scan was finished. Then it literally started hailing! But we managed to complete the scan successfully and were ready to start the process of adapting our products to be compatible with the RHD Tesla Model Y accessories.

For now, the products are in production and will be released soon! We hope you enjoyed this quick update on the development of the Tesla Model Y RHD and LHD accessories.
